Osama Bin Laden BLOG

I was watching CSI New York last night when there was a message that appeared on the bottom saying that President Obama was going to make a statement in about 10 minutes.  I was watching this show with my dad and he predicted that the message was going to be something about the US invading Libya or just about the war there.  Instead we heard the breaking new that bin laden had been killed.  This was a huge surprise to me as I had no idea that we had even found where he was since before when he did, Bin Laden escaped out the back door.  This time though it was solely a US mission because last time someone from Pakistan tipped him off that we were coming.  The thing I worry about it that I am afraid that the US might get attacked or someone might try to attack us.  Even though their (al-Qaida) leader is dead, I don’t think that he was really doing much anymore as he was hiding in a house.  He might have been planning attacks or something since he is a mastermind behind al-Qaida attacks.  The other thing is that apparently his mansion where he was hiding was a few blocks from a military base.  This to me is sketchy as there is no way that this military base did not notice him living.  There must have been a leak that kept him safe or maybe he was paying someone a lot of money to keep them quiet.  Like I said before, I am afraid that some of Bin Laden’s followers might try and attack the USA in the coming weeks.  I believe that the defense secretary might also believe that and will increase security around the nation.  This includes airports greatly as this is the main way that they (al-Qaida) would attack us like during 9/11.  To me though, Bin Laden seemed like he was not the face of al-Qaida anymore because he has been in hiding for so long.  I believe that in the past couple of years new leaders from this terrorist group have stepped up and taken power to run their group.  Lastly, to the average American the death of this terrible man is bigger to us then it is to others around the world. This is because we believe that the event of 9/11 has now been brought to justice.  To the military it is also a huge deal because that is what the war in Afghanistan was started for, the war on terrorism.  Now that we have brought down its leader we must continue to fight terrorism to make our country in America a better and safer place.
